Doug Silverman, a respected HR professional, is currently the President of SHRM-LI. He earned a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management and Labor Relations from the New York Institute of Technology. Doug is currently the General Manager of Human Resources for Nikon Inc. In addition, he is currently an Adjunct Professor at Suny Stony Brook in the School for Professional Development. He is a frequent guest lecturer and trainer on Human Resources and Business related topics. He has taught Human Resources and Labor Relation courses at Cornell, St. John's University, University of Las Vegas and others. He has had several articles and interviews published in Newsday, The New York Times, Diversity Magazine and more.

Over the past years, Doug has served in a variety of roles for SHRM-LI including Conference Committee, Conference Co-Chair, Membership, Treasurer and Vice President.

Annette Perry, a respected HR professional, is currently the Vice President for SHRM-LI. She holds a degree in Business Management from Adelphi University. Annette is currently the Director of Human Resources for Empire Merchants. LLC.

In 1996, Annette received the recognition of her peers when she achieved her professional certification as a PHR (Professional in Human Resource Management) by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM). In addition to being Vice President of SHRM-LI, Annette is also Vice President for the Long Island Chapter of the Risk Insurance Management Society (RIMS-LI). She has served on various committees and in a number of capacities for SHRM-LI. At the April 2008 SHRM-LI Annual Conference, Annette was recognized for her dedication to the HR Profession by receiving the prestigious Joseph Duffy Award.

Robert Micera, a respected HR professional, is the current Treasurer for SHRM-LI. Robert earned his Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management and Labor Relations from the New York Institute of Technology. He currently holds the post of Director of Human Resources for Margolin, Winer & Evens LLP. In addition, Robert is an Adjunct Professor and has taught at St. Joseph's, New York Institute of Technology and Stony Brook University. Robert has earned his SPHR.

His professional and civic affiliations include Treasurer and Co-Chair for the Society of Human Resources Management Long Island Chapter, HR Advisory Board member for Adults and Children with Learning Disabilities (ACLD), and a member of the Congress of Racial Equality. In addition, Robert recently had his book "Right to the Point" published and was recognized by SHRM National as they have added this book to their collection of academic offerings.

Melissa Frisina, a respected HR professional, has worked in the field of Human Resources for a number of years, earning her PHR certification. She is a graduate from St. Joseph’s College and is in the process of completing her MBA. Melissa presently holds the position of Director of Human Resources, with a large, regional healthcare provider. She has served SHRM-LI in a variety of roles, including: Conference Co-Chair – 2007, Conference Steering Committee 2004-2008, in addition to representing St. Joseph’s College as past Chapter President and Treasurer.

Leslie Perri
Past President SHRM-LI & Current Job Networking Chair 

Leslie Perri, SHRM-LI member since 1994, is currently the Benefits Project Manager for Adecco Employment Services and has more than 10 years experience in the Human Resource field.
Leslie is a past President for SHRM-LI and the current Job Networking Chair.

Leslie is a past SHRM-LI Co-Chair for SHRM-LI's annual conference and has been a conference committee member since 1996. Her elected positions have been: Vice President/ Program chair (1/2003 to 12/2004), Treasurer (1/ 2001-12/2002) and Secretary (1/1999-12/2000). Served as an appointed board member of Membership Representative (1/1997-12/1998).

Sandy Masnick has been a Human Recourse professional since 1980. She retired in 2002 as Vice President of Human Resources for Bethpage Federal Credit Union where she was responsible for the entire Human Resource function.

Sandy has been active in SHRM-LI holding various roles such as Membership Chairperson, Secretary, Vice President and, in 1986, President. In 1988, she received the Martin Delaney Award in recognition of her service to the society and the profession.

Robin McConnell has been an integral part of SHRM-LI for over 15 years and is a former 2-time past president. Within her many roles in Human Resources, Robin keeps abreast of current trends in the marketplace and employment field. Her commitment to SHRM-LI also extends to the state level as she is the current NYS State Director. Two years ago, Robin was honored at the SHRM-LI Annual Conference when she received the Joseph Duffy Award.

Rob Potorski is currently an Outplacement Consultant with DBM - Long Island office .  He possesses over thirty years of Human Resources managerial experience including twenty at the director or VP level in both corporate and plant environments, with a specialization in staffing. He earned an Industrial Relations undergraduate degree from Rider University and an M.B.A. from Dowling College. Rob is currently Vice-Chair, Board of Directors of the Urban League of Long Island, Board Member of SHRM-LI and current Legislative Chair. He also was past President of the Long Island Chapter, and Co-Chair of the Annual Conference. Rob is a recipient of the Joseph C. Duffy Award for professional HR excellence.

In addition to his daily responsibilities at Canon Usa, he teaches the SHRM certification course and Compensation at New York Institute of Technology.

His experience with the SHRM-LI includes the positions of Programs Chairman, Treasurer, Vice President and President. In fact, he chaired the first ever SHRM-LI conference.
